Dozens of Students Hospitalized After Consuming Popular Local Drink on Campus

Panic gripped the Prampram community earlier today after dozens of students were rushed to the Prampram Polyclinic following a suspected case of food poisoning. The affected students reportedly fell ill after consuming "Asaana," a traditional Ghanaian drink, sold within the school premises.

According to eyewitnesses, the students began experiencing symptoms such as severe stomach aches, vomiting, and dizziness shortly after consuming the beverage during their break time. Health authorities were immediately alerted and dispatched ambulances to transport the students to the nearest healthfacility.

Medical staff at the Prampram Polyclinic are currently attending to the students, with preliminary assessments pointing to food poisoning as the likely cause. Laboratory tests are underway to confirm the exact source of contamination.

Parents and guardians, upon receiving news of the incident, rushed to the clinic to check on their children. “I got a call from a teacher, and I had to leave work immediately. This is every parent's nightmare,” said one concerned parent.

The incident has sparked renewed concerns over food safety and hygiene practices in educational institutions. Many are questioning how vendors are screened and what measures are in place to ensure that food and beverages sold on school grounds are safe for consumption.
