Come And Support Schools In Kumawu District – MP Appeals To Well-to-do Natives
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sekyere Kumawu constituency in the Ashanti region, Hon. Ernest Yaw Animhas reiterated the need for natives of the district whom God has blessed with worth to come and support education in the district.
According to him, the Sekyere Kumawu district will be able to overcome infrastructure and other challenges facing schools in the area if natives living outside the district who have the means will come and support the schools.
He made the appeal when the Kumawu Anglican Child and Youth Development Centre in collaboration with Compassion International Ghana donated 105 dual desks, 55 mono desks and 10 teachers’ table-and-chairs to Kumawu Anglican primary and JHS schools.
The District Education Director, Mr. Kwame Oduro Owusu appealed for more support from NGOs and corporate bodies to emulate the shining example of Kumawu Anglican Child and Youth Development Centre and Compassion International Ghana to help enhance education in the area.
The Project Director of Kumawu Anglican Child and Youth Development Centre, Mr. Richard Acheampong, chargedteachers and students of the beneficiary schools to take good care of the desks to prolong their durability.
