Dancegod Lloyd clarifies claims of throwing
shade at former manager, Quables.
Influential
dancer, choreographer and dance coach, Dancegod Lloyd has denied claims of
throwing shade at his former manager, Quables. In an interview with popular
youtuber, Kwadwo Sheldon, the dancer indicated that his tweets on his social
media handles most especially ‘X’ is totally harmless and not targeted directly
or indirectly at Quables.
According
to him, Quables played a pivotal role in his career at a difficult time in his
life when he had no one to fall back on. Dancegod Lloyd started dancing in his
formative years back in high school. He is convinced that his dancing talent is
innate and he is very appreciative of that.
After
completing high school, he played football for about 4 years but his passion
for dancing was something he just couldn’t let go of. He tends to have had more
pleasure and comfort in dancing as compared to football. Having realized his
passion for dancing, he consistently participated in inter-school dance
competitions. As time passes by, the sensational dancer through a Ghanaian
movie producer and clothing brand owner, Augustus Edgar Quartey popularly known
as Tagor, met Quables on set. On numerous trips to the 14:32 GMT movie premier,
Dancegod Lloyd and his former manager built a mutual friendship and had a good
rapport.
He
opened up to Quables about his burning desire to become a professional dancer.
Quables understood his vision and they both established the dance academy named
‘Dance With Purpose (DWP) Academy’ headed by Quables with Dancegod Lloyd as the
co-founder of the group.
Lloyd
explained that he introduced his friend, Afrobeast who is also a dancer from
Ashiaman a suburb of Accra to his former manager to also be a part of the dance
group.
Afrobeast
was warmly welcomed by Quables and they began organizing dance classes and
scouting for interested dancers and learners through social media platforms.
He
acknowledged Quables for working assiduously behind closed doors to push the
agenda by constantly projecting his brand and promoting his videos. When asked
why he parted ways with his former manager and dance group, he stated that it
was for his personal good and mental health. Basically asserting his dominance
in the dance fraternity, he sometimes tweets about his achievements and
successes to cheer him on and solicit for more support from his fans.
One
of Lloyd’s topmost goals is to make dancing more lucrative and create a
thriving ambience for the younger generation and people who look up to him. The
dancer is currently spearheading a dance festival which he looks forward to hosting
sometime this year. Having strategically positioned his talent and brand on the
entertainment radar by promoting songs of musicians, he has penned few contractual
agreement which is his topmost priority.
